HOLLYWOOD'S "GO TO" FOR HORSE REPLICAS SINCE 1991

by Jim Boulden

Hollywood's best horse replicas.

Our first horse replicas were made for "Son of the Morning Star" (ABC/TV 1991, Rosanna Arquette, Gary Cole, Buffy St Marie) with a huge scene from Custer's last stand.  Battlefield, soldiers on the ground, horses...

Most of our work for features and dramas depicts violence or harm to animals.  These are scenes that are important to the storyline, and do not glorify violence.

We were surprised upon seeing this biographical movie, because the opening scenes featured our animal art.

Tom Cruise, as Joseph Donnelly in "Far and Away" returns after a night of drinking at the bar, to find his horse has died of old age at the tie up.   This was our first project for Ron Howard and Imagine Entertainment.

Both of these scenes had to show a realistic horse.

Those projects were thirty years ago.  Our work only got better, and more realistic.

Fast forward to the new millenium, and our horse replicas went into the public square.

It was 2014 and The Bellagio Las Vegas designed a wonderful horse display.  We gave original poses to each of the horses we recreated.  This display was seen by 40,000 visitors per day.  Google reports over 8,000,000 images shared which feature these horses.

The center gold horse rotates on its stand.  Fourteen feet tall, it stands at 35 feet over the viewing floor.

Each of the 8 lower horses are individually created to match research materials.  The gorgeous manes flow in the wind.

Welded, aluminum armatures are fit inside urethane foam bodies with long lasting flocking on the outsides.  It's a particularly lifelike look.

Each horse's gorgeous mane and tail flows in the wind.
